Starr Buck...
A photographer hotter than a cup of gourmet coffee!
California native Starr Buck -- and yes, that is her REAL name -- is a
natural born photographer.
She picked up a camera at age five, while traveling across country with her
parents, and was immediately hooked on photography.
Growing up in Huntington Beach and around Orange County, the budding
photographer honed her skills at local parades, surfing festivals and
family functions.
Her talent was visible, in even her earliest photos.
By the time she was in her teens she had decided on a career in photography.
She attained her AA degree from Orange Coast College and earned
her BA in Journalism, (with a concentration in photo journalism), at the
University of La Verne.
Following an internship at the Daily Pilot, Starr began
freelancing for the newspaper and other print publications.
She has been published in: Coast Magazine, Kiwanis Magazine, La Verne
Magazine, Tehachapi News, Chattan Wells Catalog and United Way.
She signed on with the Orange County Register, California's third largest
newspaper, in 1999. She was a staff photographer there for seven years.
During that time, her photos appeared daily, not only in The Register, but
in The Huntington Beach Wave, Fountain Valley View, Anaheim Bulletin,
Anaheim Hills News, Orange City News, Brea Progress and La Habra Star,
its sister publications. She specializes in: news photography, action sports photos, civic and
social events, environmental portraits, photographing children, pets,
corporate and promotional events.
